Debra Lynn: Bio

Called the "Mary Poppins of Vocal Coaches", Debra has taught all ages to find their own unique sound, while developing habits for healthy vocal production, in a fun and empowering environment.

Her book, "If You Can Speak, You Can Sing!", was written for those of us wanting to release our true voice with ease and takes the mystery out of singing for beginners. Her vocal understanding has led to the discovery of a serendipitous dovetail between bel canto and barbershop.

Says Director Lindi Bortney of Maiden Vermont, a 45-woman barbershop chorus, "Debra Lynn is my secret weapon!"

Currently, Debra resides in Vernon, Connecticut where she maintains a private voice studio and is barbershop technical production coach for Men in Black, Party of Four, Silk City Chorus and Millennium Magic. Check out her YouTube.com clips at 'debralynnvocalcoach'!

Principal soprano soloist with the Maui Symphony and Maui Pops Orchestra from 1998 to 2009, Debra has performed from Austria to Palm Beach to San Francisco to Honolulu and as opening act for Wayne Dyer, Ram Dass and Marianne Williamson. She has her B.A. Degree in Voice Performance and four years of post-graduate studies with a master teacher of bel canto.

Debra wrote and recorded Heaven in Your Heart, and was one of six finalists for a 2009 Na Hoku Hanohano Award as Spiritual Album of the Year.
